WebJul 9, 2024 · Timing light is a timing light bro. They all work the same way. I have a multi spark ignition, same as MSD, and my Innova dial back will not work with it. Shows errttic spark with the timing mark jumping all over the place. Switch to my older Craftsman chrome light and it works like a charm, steady as a rock timing mark. WebUse a dial back timing light set to 32 degrees. Run the engine up until the timing stop advancing (full mechanical advance). The timing should be 32. If you do not have a dial back timing light then you must make a new mark on your front pulley with a paint pencil. Roll the engine until 12 degrees before top dead center.
